Summer Seminar 2017: Multicultural Schooling in a Globalized World: Lessons from US Contexts

STIFTUNG UNIVERSITÄT HILDESHEIM
Hauptcampus Neubau-Forum /  Universitätsplatz  1, 31141 Hildesheim / 30 June  to 01 July 2017

Dr. Marguerite Luke (Internationals Network for Public Schools) was an international guest researcher at the ZBI in June / July 2017. She taught a seminar titled Multicultural Schooling in a Globalized World: Lessons from US Contexts. This intensive 2-day seminar has provided the opportunity for German students to discuss theories, models, best practices and current challenges related to culturally and linguistically responsive schools in the US and Germany.  The seminar was designed as a first step toward a more extensive exchange program among educators in Germany and the US in order to commonly examine persistent challenges for multilingual and multicultural schools and classrooms in communities facing rapid demographic changes in both countries.
